David E. Ayres received a BBA degree from Texas A&M University in 1971 and began a career in the Life Insurance field as an agent with Penn Mutual Life Insurance Company (PML) in Dallas, Texas. His agent production qualified him for the Company`s top production honors. He was appointed to General Agent for Penn Mutual in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in 1977. In 1985, the Oklahoma City Agency and the Dallas Branch of Penn Mutual merged under his direction and won the Company`s President Award. This award represented prestigious recognition for an Agency that demonstrated the largest increase in the areas of recruiting, premiums and commissions.

David was President Elect of Penn`s prestigious Agency Association (PMAA) before he resigned from PML in October 1986. From 1978 through 1999, he received the National Management Award. While in the position of General Agent, David was a qualifying member of the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) and has been for the past sixteen years in addition to the National Quality Award (NQA).

In October 1986, David accepted the position of Senior Vice President of Marketing for U. S. Life Corporation with a territory that covered the Southwest Region of the United States.

With a sincere desire to return to Field Management, Sun Life of Canada U. S., selected David as a General Agent for Dallas in November 1988. Before David joined the Dallas Agency, it ranked 36 in sales for Sun Life. Within one year after David`s arrival, the Dallas Agency grew to the 10th ranked Sun Life Agency. The agency premiums exceeded 5 million in 1996.

In April 1997, David joined AIG (American International Group) as Branch Manager and Life Marketing Director for Dallas and North Texas. In 1998, David`s Branch was #3 in AIG Life Target Premium. The Branch was also affiliated with Cadaret, Grant & Company, an Independent Broker Dealer. The branch Gross Equity commissions exceeded one million dollars along with $500,000 fixed Universal Life Commission in 1998.

In August 1999, The Ayres Financial Group, Inc. rejoined its affiliation with Penn Mutual and Independent Broker Dealer - Hornor, Townsend & Kent. Currently the Agency is in the Top 5 Agencies for growth.

In June of 2007 David was honored with the prestigious 2006 - 2007 O.C. Jackson Hall of Fame Award which was presented by the NAIFA Dallas Association.
